When we think of Ferrari and California, our thoughts often turn to the Ferrari 250 GT California Spider. However, this California is a fantastic example. It is a delightful Ferrari, and we are thrilled to have it in the Gallery Aaldering collection.
What sets this Ferrari California apart is that it was the first Ferrari with a front-mounted V8 engine. In keeping with the spirit of the times, Ferrari introduced a retractable roof, giving it a unique look for sunny drives along the boulevard. Because of the front-mounted V8, this Ferrari was fundamentally different from its counterparts, such as the 430 Scuderia and 458 Italia.
The California has a very spacious trunk, making it ideally suited as a true GT. However, its performance is far from typical GT standards. The 4.3-liter engine accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 3.7 seconds, with a top speed of 316 km/h. It features multi-link rear suspension, direct injection, and an option of a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission instead of a six-speed manual. Our example in Brummen is equipped with the dual-clutch transmission.
Originally delivered in Belgium, this California was ordered in Grigio Silverstone with Cuoio leather upholstery—a stunning color combination that highlights the car's beauty. The overall condition is excellent, including the exterior, interior, and mechanical aspects. The bodywork and bumpers show hardly any signs of wear. Inside, the leather seats, steering wheel, and dashboard are as good as new.
Driving this Ferrari is a fantastic experience, offering plenty of thrills with ample comfort—a perfect combination. It drives just as well as it did when it left the factory. The car has a clean and comprehensive maintenance history, with a leather Ferrari folder containing all original booklets.
