This 380 hp Berlinetta, equipped with solutions derived from the world of Formula 1, brought the Maranello marque 'rebirth' in 1994 after the unfortunate experience with the 348. Aspirated V8 engine, top speed of almost 300 km/h, acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h in 4.7 seconds, debut of the electro-actuated gearbox in a Prancing Horse road car.
Ferrari relies as never before on its experience in Formula 1. From the single-seater universe comes electronic injection, sequential gearbox and suspension with electronically controlled dampers, adjustable from the cockpit in two different modes, Normal and Sport.
Just over 11,300 examples of the F355 were built.
Sales success was overwhelming, driven by the Berlinetta, followed by the GTS, Spider and Serie Fiorano variants. Deserving a separate mention is the Challenge version, designed exclusively for participation in the Ferrari one-make championship.
The F355 Challenge was so high performance that the race version only included a few minor modifications to the exhaust system and clutch and nothing else.
The characteristics of the V8 remained unchanged, from road to track.
