Description

Present with the car• Marcel Massini 2023• Original instruction book and warranty/maintenance book• Spare keysAbout this car: Very original Ferrari F40 in fantastic condition. Very good, apparently original paint, not an overly restored car, but very authentic. Windows and rubbers are all original. Also under the hood this F40 is in very good condition. This is an original European version equipped with odometer. This is a very late version. Production of the F40 stopped during 1992. A total of just over 1,300 pieces were built. The Ferrari F40 in generalIn 1987, the Ferrari brand celebrated its 40th anniversary and to celebrate, Enzo Ferrari decided to build a special car to underline what Ferrari really stood for: building the ultimate sports car for the road. The starting point was the 288 GTO Evoluzione, developed for the Group B championship. Group B was dropped by the FIA and the car was not produced but developed into the F40.Comfort and luxury were left out and the whole thing was developed with ééone goal in mind: very high performance. The F40 featured a 2936 cc 90° V8 engine, which, equipped with two IHI turbos, produced 478 hp. Weight was kept low by using materials such as Kevlar, carbon fiber and aluminum, just like Formula 1 cars’s. Pininfarina was responsible for the design and Scaglietti built the bodywork.Note: The middle exhaust is for exhausting the air from the turbochargers' wastegate, the outer two exhausts are for exhausting the exhaust gases from both cylinder banks. The F40 became the first production car to reach the 200 mph (320 km/h) limit – a milestone in automotive history.
