The Ferrari Purosangue is the first car with four doors and four seats from the Maranello company, cars with two rear seats have had an important role in the company strategy since the early days: in fact, many Ferraris have done union between absolute performance and first-rate comfort is one of their pillars. Today, the result of this seventy-five years of research gives life to a unique car, imbued with the DNA of the Prancing Horse, in which performance, driving emotions and usability coexist in complete harmony.
A thundering V-12 engine is the only powertrain offered—why would it need anything else? The engineers have also buttressed the ‘Sangue’s ride-and-handling with a trick active suspension system to help it drive as a Ferrari should. To purists scoffing at an SUV wearing the famed prancing horse badge, we’ll point to the naturally-aspirated 6.5-liter V-12 engine lurking under the Purosangue’s hood. Nothing says Ferrari more than a screaming 715-hp twelve-cylinder, and it even wears the brand’s signature red-painted valve colors. The engine makes a hearty 528 pound-feet of torque, and we estimate that it should power the Purosangue to 60 mph in just 3.2 seconds and on to a top speed of 193 mph.
