Very neat Pininfarina Spider 2000 as a Volumex, built in 1985, one of the last spiders ever made! The body is beautifully painted in blue metallic which gives a stylish combination with the beige interior. The bodywork is solid and intact, this can also be said about the interior. As a nice extra option, this copy was delivered with a neat tonneau cover and chrome luggage rack. When Fiat stopped production of the very successful 124 Sport Spider in the early eighties, the Italian design house Pininfarina decided to continue producing this model itself. Pininfarina was responsible for the design of this Spider, which was on the market since 1967. Never before had Pininfarina itself produced cars as a manufacturer and after this model they would not do this anymore. In the case of this offered copy, we should not actually speak of a Fiat Spider but of the Pininfarina Spider Europe, or Azzurra for the copies with America as destination. Before Pininfarina started producing, many small and some larger adjustments were made to get the Spider completely up to date. In 1983 Pininfarina launched as a special edition an Abarth-tuned copies of the Spider europa Volumex with Roots compressor. With 135 hp (99 kW) from a displacement of two liters, the Volumex was stronger than its "eternal rival", the Alfa Romeo Spider. While the other Fiat 124 Sport Spiders reached top speeds of up to 175 km / h, the Volumex reached 190 km / h.
