Description

1951 Fiat Topolino C ex-Mille Miglia & Giro della Sicilia 1952

Experience the Mille Miglia just the same way most of the Italian enthusiasts did in the 50-ies. You will have utmost fun, without robbing the bank!

At the start of the 1950s, many young people dreamt of becoming racing drivers, but had limited means in a Europe which still bore the deep scars of the Second World War.
Carlo Siciliani was one of them and managed to buy a new Fiat 500C Topolino in December 1951 with which to go racing.

The car was registered at the beginning of 1952 and immediately prepared to compete in the:
- Giro della Sicilia on 9-th of April 1952 and classified 1st in 750 cc Turismo class.
- Mille Miglia on the 3-4-th of May 1952 with a very good time of: 18h.03min.25sec. which placed the Siciliani-Netti team 179-th in the General Classification.
A remarkable result for the class of car.
Siciliani then replaced the 500C with a Fiat 1100, before driving a Fiat 8V.

Found in southern Italy, the Topolino underwent a complete restoration (inside-out) in 2017 to its original racing specification. A very charming appearance!
In 2018 the owner entered it once again in the Mille Miglia storico, which it finished without any problems.

This adorable Topolino comes with an extensive history file which includes documents from its entries in the Giro di Sicilia and Mille Miglia in 1952, archives from the Mille Miglia museum, a Mille Miglia Registro certificate, the 'Estratto Cronologico' supplied by the ASI, an ASI certificate, a FIVA ID card, period newspaper articles and black-and-white photographs.

A truly historic car and one of the most affordable ways to enter the most legendary of Italian races. Realize your dream now and drive the Mille Miglia race in 2025. With Marreyt Classic Cars?
