At its debut, the new sedan, named Argenta (in homage, it was said, to Argenta Campello, a young daughter of Maria Sole Agnelli), available in "1600" (1585 cm³, 98 DIN hp); "2000 i.e." (1995 cm³, 122 hp DIN) and "2500 Diesel" (2445 cm³, 72 hp DIN, recognizable from the other models in the range by the bulge on the front engine hood), was received lukewarmly in Italy and frostily abroad.
