motodrome offer for sale this really special Capri – a 1988 registered 280 Brooklands, finished, as they all are, in the very distinctive Brooklands Green Metallic with full raven black leather.
This is a late-registered example, first taking to the road on 25th January 1988, and it’s build number 229 out of 1038 examples.
The 280 Brooklands was the last hurrah of the Capri and, as above, all were Brooklands Green metallic with full Raven Black Recaro leather. All were equipped with limited slip differential and 15in 7-spoke alloys, and became an instant collectors item.
This one is original and unrestored, and presents superbly. The only additions I’m aware of are the walnut dash insert, some chrome enhancements under the bonnet, uprated hoses, and, as the gearshift is so precise, it’s possibly been fitted with a quick shift kit.
Also fitted with a Clifford immobiliser.
It even has it’s original stereo.
Originally sold by Perrys of Aylesbury to the Performing Rights Society in London W1, it’s now showing 6 former keepers, all of whom seem to have cared for it well.
The mileage of just 64000 is warranted to us by the previous owner and is supported by the history, and it comes with a nice history file including the original service book with 12 stamps up to 56300 miles, a secondary service book with a further 6 stamps up to 62922 miles, old MOT’s back to 2001, and a good selection of bills.
The previous owner has recently fitted 4 new Michelin tyres.
It’s worth noting that, since the MOT database went live in 2005, it’s never failed an MOT on structural corrosion issues, or indeed had any advised. No mean feat for a car built in the mid 1980’s that’s seen use, and hasn’t spent it’s entire life in storage
Overall, it’s a fine example of a very desirable Capri
