Description

Here is a genuine Roush road racer that was originally campaigned in the 2006-2008 NASCAR Nationwide series. This is a complete, ready-to-run car that will run at the front of any vintage stock car event. It most recently competed in May 2021 at SVRA - Road America where it took first in class and posted a best weekend time of 2:15.2. Note all the racing pictures in this ad were taken at that event.

This is a hard-to-find road course chassis; it is not a converted raised-rail oval car. The cage shows Roush stamping RK 341 with a date of 11-05. This racer was part of Tad Geschickter’s team and retains its Ford Fusion bodywork and #47 Clorox livery. It was driven by Andy Lally, Jon Wood, and Kelly Bires in several NASCAR Nationwide races and saw a top ten finish in 2007. Note this is the sister car to the #59 STP / Kingsford car driven to victory in 2008 by Marcos Ambrose at Watkins Glen.

The drivetrain uses a 358ci Roush Yates D3 making 850hp. The transmission is an EMCO unit while the SCP rear housing presently has 3.89 gears. There are coolers for both. The Brembo brakes use 6-piston monoblocks in front along with 4-pistons in back. Master cylinders are from Tilton. As with a road course car, this one has symmetric control arms and trailing arms. Further, the Panhard bar is fastened to the driver side and the rear housing has negative camber on both sides.

The interior has a Kirkey containment seat and full fire suppression system. All the expected race gauges and equipment are present. The car is easy to start and very predictable and stable on track. Everything is in race-ready condition and was most recently prepped by Valu Pro Motorsports (they can provide future prep and track support if interested). It scaled at 3,045 pounds without the driver.

Legitimate NASCAR road course cars are hard to find; the vast majority of their cars are built for left-turn-only use. It is harder still to find one that hasn’t been wrecked or stuck in a storage unit for ten years. This one is the real deal and is ready to star at your next vintage event.
