The Ford Escort is a compact family car, presented in January 1968 at the Brussels Motor Show. Production of the Ford Escort began at the end of 1967 at the British Ford factory of Halewood. Almost a year later, Escort production was also started at the Belgian Ford factory in Genk. In the course of 1970, Escort production for continental Europe moved from Genk to the then newly opened Ford factory in Saarlouis, Germany.The second generation was developed in cooperation with the Cologne Ford department. Mechanically the cars were identical, but the Mk. II received a more modern body. The Escort remained a popular car, with many sales. The appearance of the car has changed slightly over the years. For example, the first copies had round headlights and the separate letters FORD in the grille. Square halogen headlights were reserved for the more luxurious Escort GL and Escort Ghia trims. Later (around 1978) the Escort received square headlights and a Ford emblem on the grille. The Escort also received redesigned rims and a steering wheel with a different shape.This Ford Escort was delivered new in France in August 1975, the original purchase receipt of yesteryear is still present, as are the booklets, which are also present.
