This 1942 Ford GPW is really stunning, it is one of the first examples to leave the assembly line (VIN: GPW 28407) and of course it has not the “Ford” script embossed on the rear panel of the body. After the war this car was declared surplus and joined the Italian Police; during the Sixties it was sold on the civilian market and got the registration of the Bologna province. Some years ago it was the subject of a meticulous restoration, originality was the rule. Its only sin is the 12V electrics, a concession to practicality. Structurally and mechanically the car is “as new”, it is obviously roadworthy and has a valid MoT test certificate.
