The appeal of a professionally built hot rod lies in its ability to honor the past while dramatically improving every aspect of the driving experience. When executed correctly, the result isn't simply a restored classic; it's a completely reimagined automobile that delivers modern reliability, exceptional craftsmanship, and timeless style.
This outstanding Ford 5-Window Coupe is precisely that kind of build. Constructed without compromise and finished to an exceptional standard, it combines classic pre-war Ford styling with proven Chevrolet V8 performance, contemporary chassis engineering, and a beautifully tailored interior. It is equally at home on the highway or the concours lawn.
Professionally built by Miller Brothers Hot Rod Barn in North Wilkesboro, North Carolina, this all-steel coupe underwent a meticulous frame-off restoration and custom build. The body was stripped to bare metal and finished in GM Autumn Maple two-stage paint, a rich metallic color that complements the Ford's graceful curves and Art Deco-inspired styling. Outstanding panel fit, excellent body alignment, and superb attention to detail are evident throughout, with carefully selected brightwork and tasteful custom touches that elevate the presentation without distracting from the coupe's timeless design.
The engine compartment features a professionally built Chevrolet 383ci stroker V8, combining legendary small-block reliability with impressive performance. It is topped with a polished Edelbrock aluminum intake manifold and Holley Sniper electronic fuel injection beneath a Billet Specialties air cleaner. The engine includes billet valve covers, Sanderson headers, a Flame-Thrower electronic distributor, Taylor ignition wires, polished accessory drive components, and an aluminum radiator with electric cooling fan. This setup ensures effortless starting, excellent drivability, and abundant power for city cruising or highway stretches.
The chassis boasts a Mustang II-style independent front suspension with rack-and-pinion steering and Aldan adjustable coil-over shocks for confident handling and a smooth ride. Four-wheel power disc brakes provide modern stopping power. Power is transmitted through a Turbo-Hydramatic 350 automatic transmission to a Ford 9-inch rear axle with a Truetrac limited-slip differential. Large-diameter exhaust tubing, electronic cutouts, and polished MagnaFlow mufflers give the coupe an unmistakable sound. Staggered Schott Accelerator wheels wrapped in Falken performance tires complete its aggressive yet refined stance.
The interior, crafted by Kirk's Kustom Upholstery of Corryton, Tennessee, features approximately four premium hides of Saddle leather, creating an elegant cabin that blends traditional craftsmanship with modern amenities. A TEA's Design bench seat, custom upholstered side panels, Daytona carpet, and burl wood-inspired dashboard create a warm, inviting atmosphere. Modern conveniences include Vintage Air climate control, power windows, a Lokar shifter, AutoMeter instrumentation, and a Kenwood audio system with Rockford Fosgate amplification, speakers, and subwoofer. A concealed luggage compartment discreetly houses the battery and audio components, maintaining the coupe's clean appearance.
With documented build costs exceeding $190,000, this exceptional Ford represents far more than the sum of its components.
