Description

The first generation Ford Mustang Fastback is a true icon. Few cars captivate the imagination as much as Ford’s muscle car. It appeals not only to enthusiasts of American cars but also to classic car enthusiasts across the board.

The Fastback is the most admired body variant of the series, and the early years are particularly favored. Given the model’s introduction in 1965, we can say that this ’65 model is a very early example. Its stunning lines, the highly regarded 289 cubic inches engine, and the beautiful Hertz color scheme make this specimen a bullseye for Mustang aficionados.

You might be wondering, “Hertz color scheme?” Yes, that’s correct. In the ’60s, Ford collaborated with Hertz to create a special version of the Mustang Shelby, the GT 350H. Finished in black with gold accents, it became one of the all time, most sought-after versions of the Mustang. You’ll understand that the now highly prized GT 350H serves as inspiration for many enthusiasts to transform their own Mustangs. Just like the previous owner of this Fastback, who turned his car into a GT 350H Clone.

We believe the description “pristine” suits the body of this Mustang very well indeed. The car was restored once, and that work was carried out very meticulously. As a result, the car still looks incredibly beautiful today. The sheet metal, paintwork, and panel fit are exceptional, a rarity in itself. Not visible but indeed present are the fiberglass hood with hood pins, the correct grille, and the fender skirts. The chrome trim also fits perfectly and looks stunning. The car sits on the highly sought-after 15” American Racing wheels with BF Goodrich tires.

The interior of the Fastback is in excellent condition. The black pony interior is in beautiful shape and perfectly complements the car’s overall appearance. The upholstery, carpeting, door panels, and dashboard are all in superb condition. The gorgeous wooden steering wheel, the tachometer on the dashboard, and the popular Hurst shifter create a wonderful environment to sit in.

The Mustang is powered by the potent and slightly enhanced 289 cubic inches V8, already producing 200 hp as standard. In this case, the engine is mated to a four-speed manual transmission. The V8 delivers a generous amount of torque, and the power is more than sufficient to provide a solid shove in the back.

More important than the power is the immense amount of character that a Mustang possesses. Driving, steering, and accelerating are all a joy with the Ford, thanks in part to its excellent chassis, pleasant handling characteristics, and, not least, the growl of the V8.

In short: a Mustang with fantastic looks, equally fantastic driving characteristics, and in very good condition.
