Description

The Ford Mustang Boss 302 is ééone of the most beloved Mustangs out there. The Boss version was Ford's way of taking on Chryslers and cars’s from GM in the ever-growing Muscle-car market in the ’60s and ’70s. The Boss 302 was initially presented in 1969 and a year later the model you see here in the pictures’s was presented. The Boss 302 won a special place in the hearts of car enthusiasts. The Boss 302 in street-trim was a version created by the cars’s with which Ford raced in the Trans-American Championship. A class for touring cars of various origins. The first season, 1966, was nota bene won by Alfa Romeo with the GTA. Ford presented the Boss 302 as the successor to the Shelby GT350, and it received a specially prepared 5-liter V8 with a short-speed gearbox and improved suspension. The version used in racing could handle about’000 rpm. With the street version, things were cut back earlier and the spectacle stopped at about’n 6,100 rpm. Despite this, the V8 managed to squeeze out almost 300 horsepower, the race version even 470!In 1970, the title was won with the Boss 302 and thus the goal was achieved. The principle of ‘Win on Sunday, sell on Monday’proved to work great with the Mustang. Most people who ordered a Mustang on Monday, however, did not go for the very exclusive and expensive Boss 302, of which 8,641 were produced. Only a handful also got the close-ratio four-speed transmission and the unique Drag Pack rear axle with oil cooler. So this blood orange 302 wél.In order to make long journeys a bit more enjoyable, a five-speed transmission was installed, and larger brakes from Baer were fitted to make the car stop better. As a result, the original 15” wheels no longer fit and the last owner opted for tasteful replica’s in 17”. The same model only slightly larger. It stands the Boss fantastic! The Boss 302 is in fantastic condition and perfectly maintained. Everything that should be present in the car is present and it is with this Mustang a question of getting in and drive. With a ‘big smile’ from ear to ear, we can assure you!
