This 1957 Ford Thunderbird is just 1 of 16,423 D code cars produced for the final year of the baby bird body style. The trim tag shows that it still sports its factory color of "Thunderbird Bronze" and that paint presents as show-ready. Wide white wall tires wrap around factory wheel covers and rear fender skirts exude the presidential level that T-birds demand. A reshaped front bumper with a larger grille and larger tailfins let you know it's a 1957 coming or leaving.
The "D" at the beginning of the VIN tells us that this Bronze beauty left the factory with a single 4-barrel Holley Tea Pot carburetor resting on top of the 312CID Y Block V8. The Ford-O-Matic automatic transmission pairs well to the V8 and gives plenty of attitude for the light frame that it is in. "Ford Master Guide Power Steering" on the wheel lets you know this little-bird is a friendly cruiser.
Slide into the two tone bronze and white interior and you see how well-kept this car has been. What appears to be a correct factory style interior is set off with the twin-tops that are in phenomenal condition. The Porthole hardtop has all nice glass and weather striping. The headliner looks as if it just rolled out of the factory. The soft-top has no rips or tears and the black compliments the Bronze pleasantly.
Whether you are looking for a great cruiser or a show-ready vehicle, this Thunderbird is ready for its next adventures!
