1957 Ford Thunderbird
This classic Thunderbird features a 312 CID Y Block V8 engine paired with a 3-speed automatic transmission. A Holley 4BBL carburetor has been recently installed. The car is equipped with power steering and air conditioning that blows cold air. It also has a new Champion aluminum radiator, a new cooling fan, an aftermarket AM/FM radio, a new fuel tank, and a new fuel pump. The steering box has been rebuilt.
The vehicle comes with both a white hard top and a convertible top frame. The soft top needs restoration with canvas, as seen in the pictures. This Thunderbird was painted and received a partial restoration in 2018 in Southern California. It was sold at McCormick Auction #69 in 2020, Lot # 239, on November 22, 2020, for $25,440. The car was previously owned by a widow in Palm Springs, California, for many years after her husband's passing.
The paint shows cracks, chips, touch-ups, imperfections, scratches, and dings. The body has no rust but has Bondo on the lower passenger side front fender and rear quarter. The paint and body are driver quality, making it a nice cruiser but not a show car. The exterior chrome, moldings, and emblems are original and in presentable condition.
This car starts right up every time, runs, drives, and handles very well. There are no fluid leaks or mechanical surprises. It is dependable and ready to enjoy this summer with just a turn of the key. The engine, transmission, exhaust manifolds, and drivetrain are all original to the car. The interior features a re-upholstered bench seat in white and red vinyl, with overall interior in good condition. The dash is in good shape, and the original chrome steering wheel and other pot metal parts are present but pitted, which is normal.
The white top is complete with all clamps and hardware. The car cover and miscellaneous parts transfer with the vehicle. Most parts on the car are reproduction, easy to find, and affordable, with suppliers like Larry's Thunderbird Parts in Corona, California.
This Thunderbird has a lot of personality and character. It is easy and fun to drive, starting, running, and handling very well. It is mechanically sound, regularly driven, and serviced. A full running and driving YouTube video is available. As a first-generation Thunderbird, it is highly sought after with plenty of upside.
Located in Southern California, the car has a clear California title and current DMV registration. VIN: D7FH289275. For more information, call or text Greg at 951-348-5794.
