The Hudson Motor Car Company is an American automobile manufacturer founded in 1909 by Roy Chapin, a former executive at Oldsmobile, and seven other businessmen including J.L. Hudson, an entrepreneur and founder of the Hudson department stores in Detroit (Michigan). As he provided the necessary capital, the company was named in his honor. Hudson Motor disappeared in 1954 when it merged with Nash Motors to form the American Motors Corporation. The Hudson name, however, remained on some AMC automobiles until the 1957 model year.
The car offered here was delivered in 1929 in Belgium. Scrupulously hidden in the castle of Valençay during the war it was found in 1991 with other vehicles.
His owner, for the sake of authenticity, has undertaken a complete restoration. Numerous invoices as well as a restoration file are available. The car expertise can attest of the quality of the condition of the vehicle.
A true archetype of the 1930s cabriolet with its long bonnet, slender fenders, two large headlights framing a compact grill and the deep sound of its 6 cylinders
This car, magnificently restored with deep respect for the original, exudes freedom.
