Description

Jaguar E-type OTS in red for sale

The 1965 Jaguar E-Type for sale, also known as the XK-E, is a British sports car that was first introduced in 1961. The E-Type was designed by Malcolm Sayer and was a result of Jaguar's racing heritage, incorporating aerodynamic and lightweight design elements from their successful D-Type race car.
Under the hood, the 1965 E-Type was powered by an inline-six engine that produced 265 horsepower and 260 lb-ft of torque. The engine was mated to a four-speed manual transmission that sent power to the rear wheels. The E-Type's performance was impressive for its time, with a top speed of 150 mph and acceleration from 0 to 60 mph in just 7.1 seconds.

The 1965 E-Type's design was a major selling point, with its long hood, short deck, and aerodynamic lines that made it one of the most beautiful sports cars of its time. The interior was also well-appointed, with leather seats and a stylish dashboard that featured a large speedometer and tachometer. The E-Type's handling was also praised, with its independent suspension and rack-and-pinion steering providing a smooth and responsive ride.
The Jaguar E-Type was produced until 1975 and remains a popular collector's item today. Its combination of style, performance, and handling makes it a classic sports car that continues to be highly sought after by enthusiasts and collectors. The E-Type's lasting popularity is a testament to its timeless design and engineering, and it remains one of the most iconic sports cars of all time.

Exterior: The red Jaguar E-type OTS we have for sale here has a close-to-perfect paintwork and only showing minimal signs of use. All body panels fit very nicely and are easy to open and shut. The mohair black soft-top is new. The chrome wire wheels are also in excellent condition and fitted with Vredestein Sprint Classic tyre which suits the car very well. The Jaguar has a perfect ride height, and this classic gets a lot of attention driving down the road.
Interior: As you can see, the Jaguar E-type OTS still has the original leather and it is in wonderful condition too. This is the second generation of seats for the E-type, and it is so much better that the first series 1 bucket seats. Now you can adjust the backrest which makes the entire seat much bigger. The rest of the interior is also very neat and tidy. The many gauges and switches all work as intended. In the trunk area, we have the original beige carpets also in very good condition. Underneath next to the fuel tank is the spare wheel and original jack. This car is also in remarkable condition in all these hidden areas.

Engine: In 1965, the 4,2l engine was introduced for the Jaguar E-type. This gave the car slightly better torque than the previous 3,8l. The engine in this XKE was rebuilt in 2017 and since then the car has travelled approximately 3,000 km. This is the work done in 2017.

New piston rings and bearings
Rebuild of the head including new valves, bearings camshafts
New expansion tank
Ignition leads, plugs points etc
New wheel bearings rear
Repair of clock and rpm gauge
Rebuilt carburettors
Rebuilt accelerator linkage
Full repaint of the car
Rebuilt generator

The car drives wonderfully today and the power is amazing for a 1965 car. It feels good on the road and has normal sound from gearbox and final drive.
History: This Jaguar E-type for sale was registered in Sweden first time in 1971. The odometer is showing just a little bit less than 100,000 km. There is not enough documentation to support that, but by looking at the car it feels very original and like a car that has not been in need of much restoration work. And, still with original leather! The first owner had the car until 1999 and then it was traded in with a dealer who sold the car one month later. The second private owner kept the car until 2022. It comes with receipts of the work done in the period 2015-2017. After this work effort and light restoration of the car, it has been driven only about 3,000 km. If you are looking for an E-type Roadster in excellent condition with all the bugs sorted out, this is the car for you.
