Description

The Jaguar MK II 3.8 was introduced as an evolution of Jaguar’s mid-size sedan line from the 1950s and became one of the brand’s most famous models. The MK II built on the Mark 1 with a redesigned body featuring more glass area, sleeker pillars, and improved all-around visibility. It was well-suited to the British market for sporty luxury sedans, combining comfort and performance in a compact package.

The 3.8-liter version is among the most well-known variants, appreciated for its engine displacement and refinement. The Jaguar MK II 3.8 sold successfully outside the UK and earned a strong reputation in racing and police use, thanks to its technical foundation and character. Historically, the MK II significantly shaped Jaguar’s image in the 1960s.

This example was built in June 1960 and was originally delivered in the Netherlands. The Royal Maroon finish reflects the period’s emphasis on distinctive, classic colors. The car comes with a comprehensive file containing brochures and its history, highlighting its collector’s value.

The Jaguar MK II 3.8 features an automatic transmission and power steering, making it more user-friendly while maintaining the character of the six-cylinder sedan. It recently underwent a partial engine overhaul and major maintenance, including upgrades by Jaguar specialist Nout Classics. With 23,010 km on the odometer, it is in very fine condition both inside and out. The beige leather interior provides a classic contrast to the Royal Maroon exterior, emphasizing its luxury positioning.

This 1960 Jaguar MK II 3.8 combines original Dutch registration, documented history, automatic transmission, and power steering with recent maintenance and a partial engine overhaul. The combination of Royal Maroon, beige leather, and the 3.8-liter engine makes it a representative example of the model. Viewing is recommended to appreciate its condition.
