The Jaguar S-Type was a luxury sports sedan produced by Jaguar Cars between 1963 and 1968. It was introduced as a more modern and advanced version of the popular Mark 2 sedan, while still retaining some of the iconic design elements of the earlier car.
The S-Type featured a more streamlined body style, with a longer hood and rear end, and a modified version of the Mark 2 chassis. It also had improved suspension and a newly designed independent rear suspension system.
Under the hood, the S-Type featured a range of engine options, including a 3.4-liter inline-six, a 3.8-liter inline-six, and a 4.2-liter inline-six, all of which were mated to a four-speed manual transmission or an optional three-speed automatic.
Throughout its production run, the S-Type received minor updates and improvements, including a revised interior and exterior design, larger brakes, and a revised front suspension system.
Overall, the Jaguar S-Type was a popular and well-regarded luxury sedan, known for its smooth ride, powerful engines, and classic styling. Today, it is considered a classic car and is highly valued by collectors.
