Description

When you ask us what icons Jaguar has produced, a number come to mind, but we undoubtedly think of the Jaguar E-Type and the Jaguar XJ coupé. What an elegant appearance, a Jaguar XJ6 coupé. It is a car you buy and love and cherish for a long time. When the Jaguar XJ came out in 1968, it was an important car for Jaguar and it was a great success to say the least. The public was so enthusiastic that there were literally cries for a coupé. In 1973, the time had come: Jaguar had the XJ6 coupé ready and it was proudly presented. A beautiful car with elegant design, it offered the same high level of refinement as the saloon. In total, only 10,000 examples were built. Truly a rarity! A fun fact: Jaguar made a total of 15,000 of the iconic E-type 3.8 series 1. That makes this XJ coupé also very special. In addition, the XJ coupé is known for its large trunk and could be refueled on two sides. Our Jaguar XJ6 is in the Daimler configuration and one of the best examples on the market to begin with. Rarely do we see an XJ6 coupé come by that looks so good! Why? This is a high-quality specimen that was professionally restored and reconditioned in the Netherlands, with quality of work being a priority. This is also reflected in the car at the detail level and this is not a partial restoration, but work where the entire car from A to Z was taken care of to achieve this ultimate result. The whole looks really beautiful. The dark blue body color looks fantastic and compliments the lines of this Jaguar beautifully. It also contrasts brilliantly with the beige interior, which incidentally exudes incredible class, partly due to the design, but also due to the high-quality restoration work that took place. In addition to the beautiful fits, the chrome work, such as bumpers, grille and the various accessories, enhances the elegance of this Jaguar. In short, the various parts are in excellent condition, as you would expect from a high-quality restoration. The underside of the car obviously looks just as beautiful and good.In the interior we find the beautiful beige leather upholstery that, as mentioned, formidably matches the dark blue paint. We see a large number of restorations come before us, but for us one thing is certain: when the restoration work is done properly, the car is transformed to showroom quality as it was originally when the car first left the showroom. Yet we often see cars’on the market that have been over-restored, where the right materials were not used, where, for example, the seat paddings are too thick or the carpets do not have the right look. This is all irrelevant with this car. The beige leather is of excellent quality, moreover, looks like original upholstery in absolute new condition and in addition, the carpets are in superb condition. The whole interior is correct and excellent.Under the hood we find the delicious and fine 4.2 liter engine. The engine, obviously completely overhauled, turns around beautifully and sounds clean. The automatic transmission functions flawlessly and takes you into another world. You are surrounded by the elegance and comfort that only a Jaguar can offer. Therefore, the driving experience is fantastic and the entire suspension, along with the tight steering, make you feel as if you have just picked up the Jaguar from the dealer in 1977. With this XJ, we provide a comprehensive booklet, which looks very professional, with all restoration and overhaul work recorded in detail. Also present are the original booklets of the car. This is truly a godsend for the enthusiast of the fantastic Jaguar XJ6 coupé and who is looking for a specimen that is in excellent condition and was restored in a correct, professional and high quality manner.
