In 1948 Jaguar presented a concept car to test a newly developed engine type. With this engine in the sporty design, the car reached a top speed of 120 miles. After it turned out that the concept design was highly appreciated, Jaguar decided to take the car into production. The top speed of the car ultimately determined the type designation. The now iconic Xk120. Three versions were presented, a Roadster, a Drophead Coupe and a closed version or Fixed Head Coupe. The Roadster is the nicest variant of this, according to most Jaguar enthusiasts. The example offered here is an original Roadster from 1954. This Xk was delivered new by Jaguar dealer Hornburg in Los Angeles USA. In the mid-1990s, the car was brought to Europe by the classic garage Toffen in Switzerland, which is known in enthusiast circles. From 1996 to 2017, the car remained in the hands of one Dutch owner in Switzerland. Judging by the thick file present with the car, the car was perfectly maintained and finally technically restored, overhauled, modified and repainted in 2016 and 2017. For example, the car now has a (original) five-speed gearbox, a completely overhauled engine and, for example, a completely new clutch. At that time, more than €40,000 was invested in the technology. The car also received all the attention optically, paint and chrome were renewed and the interior was newly upholstered. The result is clearly visible in the photos. A beautiful, sleek, rust-free and excellent driving Xk120 with a complete service and owner history. Rare and attractively priced at the same time.
