Description

Noble Auctions are pleased to present this 1956 JAGUAR XK 140 MC ROADSTER (SE OTS) for auction on www.noble-auctions.com.

Presented here is a wonderfully original and matching-numbers 1956 Jaguar XK140 Roadster, one of the most iconic sports cars of the 1950s.
This example is the Open Two Seater version.
Factory ordered with C-type cylinder head, factory overdrive and Special equipment package, and still wearing its original colour scheme of Pastel blue over a red leather interior. Cosmetically nicely patinated but very clean, and in excellent mechanical shape, ready to be enjoyed on rallies or tours.
Celebrity-owned in period by one of the most popular Western stars of his era: Roy Rogers aka "King of the Cowboys".
Elton John even named a song after his childhood hero Roy Rogers on the 1973 Yellow Brick Road album.
The interior is mostly original, retaining the factory dashboard and door panels, untouched since Roy Rogers owned the car in the 1950s. The seats have been reupholstered in leather.
The XK140 is powered by its original 3.4 litres inline-six.
Because this car comes equipped with the optional performance C-type cylinder head from the factory, engine output is 210HP, 20 more than a standard XK140.
This example drives exactly as it should: the engine is very powerful, the sports exhausts sound glorious, the steering is direct and precise, and the Moss gearbox is one of the better shifting examples we have encountered. This car drives better than many freshly restored examples we have driven.

This auction will start closing on March 30th at 7:00 PM.
