NOTE Registered new in England on 15 August 1958, it came with an automatic gearbox and right-hand drive.
It was later fitted with a manual XK gearbox with overdrive.
In 1985 it was imported into Italy where it was converted to left-hand drive.
In this model the transformation is very simple because it is already prepared by the factory to be set up in the two versions.
In fact, the central instrumentation allows you not to make changes to the electrical system and the rack-and-pinion steering box can be rotated from side to side.
The only necessary modification is that of the two storage compartments which are mirrored.
After a couple of changes of ownership in 1990 it was purchased by a collector who kept it for 34 years.
Unfortunately in 2012 an irreparable failure of the original engine caused it to be replaced.
The owner, with a view to having a more performing car, installed a 4,200cc engine.
Various invoices are available for work carried out over the years.
In particular, the most recent ones for 2022 and 2023 indicate, in addition to minor works:
• total overhaul of the braking system
• clutch replacement
• carburettor overhaul
From the inspections carried out in the last 6 years it is clear that the car has traveled less than 100 miles.
The last MOT was carried out in January 2024.
The car is currently in the workshop for further refinements.
Will be installed:
• 4 new shock absorbers
• 4 new tyres
• brake servo to increase the power of the disc brakes
• complete service with oil and filter replacement
• other minor tuning interventions
• chrome plating of the front bumper
The bodywork is in excellent condition and the interior has recently been reupholstered using a kit produced in England to original specifications.
Considering that a Jaguar XK 150 convertible in scrap condition can cost around 40/45,000 euros, the modest price of this car offers a large margin to be able to reintegrate the changes that have occurred over the years.
Or it can be used immediately to satisfaction as the owner has done up to now.
