Sometimes there are pearls in the collection that we are just a little proud to offer in the collection. This beautiful Jaguar XK150 FHC is without a doubt such a pearl. And that is not only due to the elegant and sporty design of this model from the legendary XK series. The beautiful color combination of black and silver emphasizes the stylish lines and gives this XK150 extra class. And the beige leather interior is a sublime combination.
This beautiful Jaguar XK150 FHC was originally delivered in Paris. It is therefore an original European delivered car, produced in 1957 in Coventry. The car was registered in France in 1958 and at that time was still equipped with a completely black body color with a beige interior. In 1998, this beautiful Jaguar was sold (via auction house Christie's) to an enthusiast in Greece. There are still various documents and photos available showing the car with a Greek registration. The owner from Greece took the car with him when he emigrated to England. The car was then (around the year 2000) fully restored by the well-known Jaguar specialists Guy Broad and Don Law. During this extensive and thorough restoration, the engine block was also overhauled and upgraded with the specifications of a 3.8 engine block. Furthermore, various technical updates were carried out, making this beautiful Jaguar XK150 more suitable for various rallies. The car also had a FIVA identity card for this purpose. There is a complete overview of all work carried out, but we would like to mention a number of special features here. For example, the cylinder head has been modified for better flow and camshafts from a D-Type have been fitted. The engine is also equipped with 3 SU carburettors and a more powerful starter motor has been fitted. Furthermore, a Getrag 140/50 5-speed gearbox and power steering have been fitted. In addition to the electric fan, the radiator has also been replaced with an aluminium one and an extra oil cooler has been fitted. The power is estimated at approximately 240 hp for this unique Jaguar XK150.
In 2017, this car was sold (via Bonhams) to Denmark to a specialist in classic vehicles. And from Denmark the car was sold back to the Netherlands and since 2019 this beautiful XK150 has a Dutch registration. The car has been maintained with great love and care over the years. This is not only visible in the extensive documentation that comes with the car, but especially in the exceptionally beautiful condition of the car itself. The body is still in very good condition and the stylish two-tone (black with gray metallic) body color has a deep and beautiful shine. The various chrome and trim parts are also still in very good and shiny condition. The various rubber parts and finishes are also still good. The body parts fit together well and the doors close solidly and well. The chrome spoke rims give this beautiful Jaguar extra allure.
The interior is in (almost) new condition and exudes the luxurious atmosphere of the 50s. The beautiful beige leather upholstery forms a stylish whole with the wood finish in the dashboard. And of course the beige carpeting fits in perfectly. The various chrome and trim parts are in excellent condition and the beautiful large wooden steering wheel is also beautiful to look at and feels solid and good in the hands. The bucket seats are sturdy and surprisingly comfortable. The dashboard is also covered in beige leather and is in sublime condition. All instruments work properly.
When we open the hood, we see a jewel of an engine block. This beautiful 6-cylinder engine is not only impressive to look at, but also a pleasure to listen to. The engine compartment looks neat and well maintained. Here too, it is clear that this Jaguar XK150 has been very professionally restored. This Jaguar XK150 is a real and wonderful driver's car. The 5-speed Getrag gearbox shifts exceptionally well and the car responds exceptionally smoothly and directly to the accelerator pedal. Because this Jaguar is equipped with power steering, it is very comfortable and pleasant to steer. The brakes also feel very solid and good, thanks to the disc brakes all around.
