Description

The Jaguar's line of XK cars started all the way back in 1948, and the XK120 was the first one out. It was followed by the Jaguar XK140 and finally the XK150, manufactured from 1957 to 1961. Initially, the Jaguar XK150 was available only as an FHC and DHC, with the OTS introduced later in 1958. The straight six-cylinder engine ranged from 190 bhp to 265 bhp in the top version with a 3.8-liter engine.

Exterior: This Jaguar XK150 S 3.8L Fixed Head Coupe, currently available for sale here, has a cream exterior complemented by dark blue leather upholstery. The big Webasto sunroof is the ideal solution for you who wish to enjoy the occasional blue sky without getting excessive wind on your neck. The car underwent significant body and frame restoration in the mid-1980s and has since been used only as an enthusiast car. Its chrome spoke wheels, refurbished in 2014 and fitted with Michelin tires, are in excellent condition. The paintwork is good, and the exceptional chrome details truly lift the car. All panels on the car have a good fit and are easy to open and close. Small traces of use over the years are present.

Interior: The blue leather interior has been refurbished at some point. My guess is around 1989 when the car had a frame-off restoration. It has today gained just the perfect amount of patina, and it is a very pleasant feeling entering the cabin of this Jaguar XK150 Coupe. The Jaguar XK120 was built for midgets and hobbits, but the XK150 offers plenty of room even for tall drivers. The front seats are very comfortable, and there is space in the back for children. In the trunk, you will find two custom-made suitcases when you are going for your Grand Tour adventures. All instruments are in perfect working order.

Engine and mechanics: The best thing with this car is that it has been built for driving. It comes with numerous upgrades, with the highlight being the powerful 3.8L engine from an E-type. On XK this would be equal to S specification. Paired with a smooth full synchro gearbox, the driving experience is seamless. When you come out on the highway, you put in the overdrive making the Jaguar XK150 effortlessly cruise at 120-130km/h. In 2016, Twyford Moors, renowned XK specialists, dedicated 86 hours to perfecting the mechanics of this car, ensuring top-notch performance and reliability. Among the enhancements made were:

Electric issues sorted out
Carburetors overhauled and tuned
Fuel sender unit replaced
A complete new exhaust system including the ceramic headers
Brake master cylinder and complete brake overhaul, pads, hoses etc.
Clutch master cylinder
New shock absorbers all around
Wiper motor replaced
New diff pinion seal and gasket
Correct throttle linkage
Chrome spoke wheels were rebuilt by MSW and fitted with new Michelin Pilote X
Electronic ignition system 123
New pedal kit
History: This Jaguar XK150 Fixed Head Coupe was sold new by Fredlunds, the Swedish Jaguar dealer in Stockholm, in May 1959. It was purchased by Martin Ljung, a renowned comedian in Sweden at the time. While the car may not be entirely original according to the build sheet, it is still a stunning example and regarded as one of the finest-driving Jaguar XK150s out there.
