Description

This Jaguar XK120 Open Top Speedster was delivered new by Jaguar dealer Hornburg Jaguar of Los Angeles, California in 1954. The car was delivered new by the factory in the color scheme it still wears today én is equipped with its original engine. This is therefore a matching numbers and colors example. The car has already been restored and overhauled once and is in good condition.Let's start at the bottom. The chassis is obviously completely free of rust and looks good. The body is nicely cared for and has some very light signs of use. The sheet metal is nice and thin and the fits are correct. The convertible top has been replaced in the recent past, fits nicely everywhere and is easy to operate. The hood frame is also in clean condition. The red paint was painted well at the time and looks clean with only some light signs of use. Also, the chrome on the wire wheels, bumpers and bodywork is in nice well cared for condition. The interior is upholstered in beige leather which apart from some signs of use is in very good condition. The seats sit well and the burr walnut wood on the dashboard is also nicely cared for. The instruments are clear to read and also the controls are all original and in good condition. The engine and transmission have already been overhauled once. The engine is 3.4 liters in size and performed in the six-in-line configuration. The engine produces 160 horsepower and is mated to a four-speed manual transmission. The transmission allows precise control and has fine gear ratios that perfectly match the engine. The suspension and brakes are also nicely maintained and perfectly suited to their task. The car comes with Jaguar Heritage Certificate confirming the correct colors and matching numbers. This Jaguar XK120 OTS is ready for many miles of open driving pleasure that dates back to the days when Jaguar was absolutely the boss in the British car industry and the whole world still lined up for the fast predatory cats from Coventry.
