Description

MOTODROME ARE CLASSIC LAND ROVER SPECIALISTS – SEE WEBSITE FOR FULL STOCK

motodrome are pleased to offer this really striking, low mileage 1987 ex-military Land Rover 90 2.5D soft top 7 seater , finished in Stornoway Grey metallic with black vinyl trim.

This one has been somewhat ‘civilianised’ from it’s original military specification, with the most important addition being power steering. It’s further fitted with colour-coded Wolf wheels with a matching set of 5 near-new BF Goodrich tyres, full length sidesteps, near-new hood with side windows, civilian towbar, and colour coded headlight surrounds and rear crossmember.

Inside it’s been uprated with civilian front seats with headrests, centre cubby box, twin rear bench seats, modern stereo, USB ports, and mats front and rear.

It still retains it’s military doors and foldable windscreen however, so it can run with no hood frame, door tops, and folded screen in the summer if you so desire.

It’s the lowest-mileage ex military one of this vintage I think I’ve ever seen, with an odometer reading of just 41000 miles.
It served as 61 KF 13 with the RAF 1987-98 as a TUL 12 volt Aircraft Armament Support vehicle at RAF Wittering, so that mileage is more than likely to be correct as airfield based vehicles don’t travel far.
Out on the road is where this 90 really shines, with a fantastic driving experience – power steering makes parking a doddle, the 5 speed gearbox and coil springs mean a modern-feeling driving experience too. Although the 12J 2.5 normally-aspirated diesel may not be the last word in performance, they are known to be incredibly reliable and this is why they were the engine of choice for the MOD at the time.
Currently MOT’d to November 2024 with no advisories, so we will be providing a fresh 12M MOT on sale

On our own website, you’ll find our usual two videos, a comprehensive walkaround and driving impressions, which form part of the description.
