Description

Gateway Classic Cars of Scottsdale is pleased to present for sale, on consignment, this Continental Mark II! The Continental Mark II is an ultra-luxury coup that was sold by the Continental Division of Ford for the 1956 and 1957 model years. The only product line ever marketed by Continental during its existence, the Mark II served as the worldwide flagship vehicle of Ford Motor Company. Back in it's day this was marketed up against the Rolls Royce Silver Cloud, which is what you do with the most expensive American Produced Automobile of the time. As with the high production cost, the buyer ends up winning because Ford was losing thousands of dollars on each car produced. This Mark II came in as part of a collection that we were able to hand pick for consignment. Powering this classic is a 368 cubic inch "Y-Block" V8 that is mated to a 3 Speed, Turbo Drive automatic transmission. Features include A/C, AM/FM/Radio, Leather Interior, Power Brakes, Power Locks, Power Steering, Power Windows, Radial Tires and Seatbelts. This car appears to be unrestored and really well preserved for a 67 year old car. The white exterior paint is all there and shiny, the interior is showing typical wear for a car of it's age. In it's two year run, the Continental Division of Ford produced around 3000 models between 1956 and 1957 so the rare factor is there and a gem for any collection. Reach out to our sales staff via phone or email to learn more about obtaining this wonderful piece of American History and thank you for looking!
