What a timeless beauty it remains. The Maserati Ghibli converted into a Spyder by Campana. Campana was a coachbuilder from Italy who made it possible to convert a Ghibli Coupé car into a Spyder. Campana was so skilled at this that it is said that they also built the Spyders that were sold by Maserati itself. This was, of course, a very sensitive matter at the time in the extremely honorable environment of Supercar Valley. This example has already been fully restored in the past when the technique was also overhauled. The car is equipped with its matching numbers 4.7 engine and an absolute asset for the serious Maserati collector. Finally, we can say that the documentation on this specimen is at least as well cared for as the car itself. The body looks fantastic, the design in all those years had to sacrifice nothing in beauty and is still an undisputed Italian masterpiece. The sheet metal parts are neatly thin with correct fits. The convertible top fits beautifully throughout and is also in very good condition.

The car was of course completely repainted during the restoration. The paint is still in very good condition and looks to be in a good condition. The car stands on original alloy wheels which are also in very good condition and have good tires in the correct sizes. The chrome trim fits perfectly everywhere and is also in very good condition. The interior was completely reupholstered during the restoration and looks beautiful. The beige colored leather is a wonderful contrast to the black exterior. The leather is of high quality and the seats are upholstered with great attention to originality. The inside of the car is further lined with beautiful black carpets that are also in very good condition and fit beautifully throughout. The instruments and controls all function as they should and look beautiful. The dashboard was also reupholstered during the restoration with a black top and beige bottom. The three-spoke wood steering wheel is the icing on the cake. The engine bay is not only beautiful to look at. The 4.7 engine also runs beautifully. The V8 produces 310 horsepower and enables the Ghibli to reach a top speed of 250 kilometers per hour. The engine is mated to a five-speed manual transmission that comes from ZF. The gearbox shifts precisely and the clutch is also childishly easy to dose. The engine revs beautifully and has plenty of torque under all circumstances. The brakes and chassis were completely renewed during the restoration. The suspension was given new rubbers all around and new shock absorbers were mounted. The brakes were also completely renewed at the time and are easy to dose.At last we have the documentation. The car comes with a beautiful box from Maserati Classiche in which we find not only an original manual but also parts lists, general history about the make and model and flowcharts’s. Finally, a folder is present with additional information such as bills and reports. In short, not only a beautiful Maserati Ghibli 4.7 Spyder Campana to see but also a beautifully documented matching numbers car.
