This 1964 Maserati Mistral is one of approximately 125 Spyders manufactured during five years of production and is among less than 30 built with power from a 3.5-liter DOHC inline-six. Chassis 027 was delivered new to Auto Distributors of New York in October 1964 with an alloy hardtop among its optional factory equipment. The car was purchased from a museum in 2012 by its current owner, who commissioned a refurbishment in 2013 that included a repaint in metallic blue, reupholstery of the interior in its original shade of red leather, and a mechanical freshening. The twin-spark engine breathes through triple Weber carburetors in lieu of its original fuel injection and powers the rear wheels via a five-speed manual transmission. Additional features include Borrani wire wheels, four-wheel disc brakes, independent front suspension, a black convertible top, power windows, and a push-button AM/FM radio. This Mistral Spyder is now offered by the seller on behalf of the owner with removed Lucas fuel injection components, Maserati Classiche documentation, copies of its factory paperwork, an owner’s manual, invoices dating back to 2013, and a clean Florida title in the owner’s name listing the car as a 1967 model.
