“Regardless of where you are going. They will know you have arrived. In style, obviously.” – Maserati
After a rather long espresso break, Maserati returned in the early 2000s with a new Quattroporte model. One of the most beautiful Maseratis ever made: practically usable, and with that heavenly sound of the Maserati trademark – the 64-valve V8. What’s not to like?
Well, let’s be brief: the gearbox. The Italians thought it was a magnifico idea at the time to fit the DuoSelect semi-automatic – known from the Ferrari 612 – into their executive sedan. In practice, gear changes were about as smooth as dancing the tango on roller skates… Clunky, jerky, and always just at the wrong moment.
Luckily, salvation came in 2007 – and how. Maserati gave its flagship model a subtle facelift and a ZF automatic transmission. The demanding diva suddenly transformed into an elegant prima ballerina. The temperament remained thoroughly Italian, but the execution became crisply German.
And ours? Ours is just that little bit extra Molto Bene.
Finished in the rare colour combination Bianco Eldorado with a Cuoio interior. Classic, stylish, and rare. And it gets even better: this Quattroporte qualifies as both a youngtimer and a VAT car. So for business drivers: certo, interessantissimo.
Further equipped with original 20-inch wheels with new tyres and brakes, tilt-and-slide sunroof, Bose Surround Sound infotainment system, iPod/iPhone connection, electrically adjustable and heated front and rear seats, electric rear sunshade, Alcantara headliner, front and rear parking sensors, Skyhook adaptive suspension, Bi-Xenon headlights, sports springs (original springs included), and much more to list! So yes… as we said: what’s not to like?
"The key to an extraordinary life is quite literally a key."
