McLaren 570S Spider: Purple Storm, British character, and a surprising amount of comfort
Imagine being able to customize a new McLaren 570S Spider in 2018. Of course, the 3.8-liter twin-turbo V8, 570 horsepower, and impressive looks are all included. But that’s when the fun really begins. Which color would you choose? Which materials? And how much attention will you pay to comfort and practicality? Because no matter how fast a McLaren may be, ultimately you want to enjoy it as often as possible.
In our opinion, whoever configured this 570S Spider back then really thought it through.
To start with, there’s Purple Storm. A fantastic color that beautifully accentuates the McLaren’s lines. Combined with Dark Palladium and the Saddle Brown leather interior, it creates a truly unique look. Sporty and bold on the outside, warm and luxurious on the inside. It’s not the most obvious combination, but that’s exactly why it works so well. This McLaren isn’t just impressive to look at—it also has a personality all its own.
The 570S was introduced in 2015 as part of McLaren’s Sports Series. The idea was to combine the technology and performance of a true supercar with greater practicality. The Spider followed in 2017, adding the option of open-top driving. Thanks to the exceptionally rigid carbon-fiber Monocell II structure, McLaren was able to incorporate an electrically operated hardtop without making major compromises to body rigidity. The roof opens or closes in just fifteen seconds. And with 570 horsepower, a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission, and a 0 to 100 km/h sprint in 3.2 seconds, there’s certainly no shortage of performance.
But with this particular model, it’s not just about speed. Just take a look at the factory equipment.
Among other things, this 570S Spider is equipped with the Carbon Fiber Exterior Pack 2, which features various aerodynamic components—including the side skirts, aero blades, and diffuser—made of carbon fiber. In addition, the car comes with the Security Pack, Luxury Pack, and the GCC Sports Pack with diamond-cut wheel finishes. This combines luxurious features, additional carbon-fiber details, and sporty accents into a single, exceptionally attractive configuration.
One option we’d like to highlight separately is the vehicle lift. For anyone who actually wants to use a McLaren, this is a particularly convenient feature. A steep driveway, a speed bump, or the entrance to a parking garage simply requires a bit of extra attention when driving a low-slung sports car. With the lift system, the front end can be temporarily raised. It’s a practical detail that makes a big difference in everyday use.
And then there’s the maintenance history. This McLaren has been dealer-maintained, with the most recent service performed in August 2026. The original booklets and the stamped service log are included. With approximately 25,000 kilometers on the odometer, this is also a relatively low-mileage example. A combination that will certainly appeal to the next owner.
What makes the 570S Spider so appealing is that it has two distinct personalities. With the roof closed, you have an impressively fast, refined sports car with a high-quality interior. Lower the roof, and the entire experience takes on a whole new dimension. The sound of the V8, the direct steering, and the way the car responds make every drive special. At the same time, the carefully selected features ensure that comfort hasn’t been overlooked.
That might be exactly what sums up this McLaren so well. Purple Storm on the exterior, Saddle Brown leather on the interior, beautiful carbon-fiber details, and an exceptionally comprehensive list of features. A supercar that’s not just meant to be looked at, but above all to be driven. And we wholeheartedly recommend the latter.
