Over the years we have bought and sold many of the 190 "super leicht" in all conditions and configurations. It is a misconception that SL on the 190 stands for "sport leicht." The term "sport leicht" is correct only for the famous 300SL better known as "Gullwing".

This 1956 190SL does just that.
This very early produced 190Sl meets all the requirements of the rarity scale and makes even our hearts beat a little faster.
The car was fully restored a little less than 10 years ago and recently technically overhauled again. Also, this Mercedes was recently completely repainted in its original color.

Second, this 190 was one of the early production models that has some different specifications than the later cars. Things like finer chrome trim all around, smaller taillights and no clock in the dash.
Also, early production cars like this one came with the 300SL Gullwing seats.
What makes this car even more special is the fact that it came in a very rare off-production color or "sonderlackierung" called "Perigrau."
The combination with the pristine but beautifully preserved, blue leather interior give this car a very stylish look.
