Description

As an introduction, the history of the Mercedes Benz 190SL begins at the request of the importer in the US, Max Hoffman (visible face of a large number of European brands in the United States during the fifties and sixties) and after the success that preceded the 300SL, he decided ask the German brand to create a "Baby SL" more accessible to the rest of its customers and this is how the Mercedes Benz 190SL was born, being the first two prototypes presented together with the 300SL at the New York show in 1954.

This unit of Mercedes Benz 190SL (R121) was sold new in California, United States, in 1960. It was imported to Europe in the mid 90's and was completely restored in 2002 by the previous owner in a company specialized in the restoration of classic vehicles in Valencia (Spain).

At the time of its restoration, the Mercedes-Benz Classic Center in Fellbach, Germany was contacted to find the original specifications of the leather tone and the exact matching paint to looked like when the car left the factory to maintain the originality of the vehicle as much as possible.

During the last few years we made the periodic maintenance service in our workshops and two 45mm dual-barrel weber carburetors where been installed to make it more reliable and practical for today's traffic.

As a data fact, it preserves the original mechanical clock integrated into the glove compartment lid. Part highly sought after by collectors.

The vehicle it’s currently in an excellent state of conservation for being a 20 years old restoration.

It is registered as a historic vehicle in Spain and has all the documents in order.
