The presented Mercedes Ponton Coupe 220 S, is an oldtimer from the upper class (F-segment) and one of 1251 examples that came off the production line.The car dates from 1959 and was exported to the United States after leaving the factory.On this model, the American influence can be seen especially in the rear wings, where the 'wings' stand out beyond the contour of the boot.Under the bonnet of this classic is a 2.2-litre engine with 115hp.The original was fitted with a Solex carburettor, while in this example we are dealing with a Zenit carburettor.It is worth noting that the car has undergone a complete restoration, but with full preservation of its exterior, interior design and equipment.During the restoration, the original exhaust system was restored and the chassis was preserved with polyurethane compound.In addition, the cockpit was completely renewed, the seats were re-upholstered, the chrome was made from scratch and new tyres were fitted.It is worth noting that after the restoration, the Mercedes Ponton Coupe 220 S has covered just 806km.In contrast, the original mileage of the vehicle is 76,000km.All in all, this is a unique classic and a great investment, and its value is influenced both by its degree of rarity and its excellent condition.The car is reserved in Poland.
