This 1961 Mercedes-Benz 220 S is commonly referred to as a ‘Heckflosse’, referring to the ‘tail fins’ at the rear. The car is finished in a handsome period-typical light gray paint and has a chic, matching, two-tone gray interior. Both the body and the interior are in very good condition. This Heckflosse has the larger 2195cc six-cylinder under the hood that is still carbureted and is mated to a four-speed manual transmission with steering gear. The engine was overhauled by an engine specialist in 2019, the invoice for which is present with the car. The 220 S is an original Dutch Heckflosse that still has the 1961 registration number.
