Description

This has to be ééone of the finest Pagodes you can choose. A 1968 Mercedes-Benz 280SL with the beloved 2.8-liter six-in-line engine and manual transmission. It's a delightful combination. In this case, that delightful powertrain is also wrapped in a beautifully restored body. The car has been restored from head to toe in the recent past and looks stunning. The body was completely reduced to bare metal and repaired where necessary. The car was repainted in this beautiful color and also the convertible top was renewed in this process. The result is therefore truly eye-catching. The sheet metal is nice and thin and original throughout and has correct fits. The car stands on the original steel wheels that have the original hubcaps and tires in the correct sizes. The convertible top is easy to operate and fits neatly throughout. The beauty of the Pagoda is that Mercedes-Benz had already incorporated the tonneau cover into the body. The interior has been completely reupholstered. The interior of the Pagoda features beautiful gray carpets and the seats are upholstered in beautiful dark brown leather. The color combination of the interior and exterior makes the car have an irresistible appearance. The rest of the interior is also neatly cared for and in very good condition. The instruments and controls all function as they should and look good. The seats are comfortable and the steering wheel is in good condition as well. The technique is very well maintained. The engine in this specimen was the top-of-the-line engine at the time. The 2.8 liter six cylinder delivers 170 hp and makes the Pagode under all circumstances has more than enough power. The engine revs beautifully and the four-speed manual transmission also suits the car's wonderfully relaxed driving style. The gear ratios have been tuned to the torquey character of the six-cylinder and allow for delightful gear changes. The brakes and the chassis are well taken care of and the engine compartment is also a feast for the eyes. The car drives exactly as you would expect of a genuine Mercedes-Benz. In short, not only a very attractive Mercedes-Benz 280SL W113 Pagoda to see but also a pleasure to drive thanks to the wonderful and rare combination of the 280 engine and manual transmission.
