1969 Mercedes-Benz 280 SL Pagoda Manual powered by the 2.8L Inline 6 producing 170 bhp The Mercedes-Benz W 113 is a two-seat roadster/coupé, introduced at the 1963 Geneva Motor Show, and produced from 1963 through 1971. It replaced both the 300 SL (W 198) and the 190 SL (W 121 BII). Of the 48,912 W 113 SLs produced, 19,440 were sold in the US. The W 113 SL was developed under the auspices of Mercedes-Benz Technical Director Fritz Nallinger, Chief Engineer Rudolf Uhlenhaut and Head of Styling Friedrich Geiger. The lead designers were Paul Bracq and Béla Barényi, who created its patented, slightly concave hardtop, which inspired the "Pagoda" nickname. Introducing this meticulously restored 1969 Mercedes 280 SL Pagoda with an original manual gearbox. Finished in her original colour 050 white paint and with a new grey fabric roof. Her previous owner completely restored her 10 years ago according to the original build sheet. There is not a single thing that was left untouched. And as she has done multiple European roadtrips since, you can be certain that she is solid and reliable. This Pagoda was originally delivered to Germany and thus is a European specification with an original manual gearbox. Being European, she has a higher ratio differential offering higher speeds on the motorway, different headlights and seats without headrest. Inside you will find a completely retrimmed red leather interior restored to original specification. With the roof down, the bordeaux really pops in the sun, making her an even better place to spend time in. To enjoy some music on your next roadtrip, an original Becker Europa radio is installed. Power comes from the correct and matching numbers M130 engine with Bosch mechanical injection. Bulletproof and very reliable, especially when revised with newer components. This six in-line engine with 2778 cc produces 170 bhp and is attached to a smooth shifting, matching numbers, 4 speed manual gearbox. The manual gearbox really transforms the Pagoda. Her engine comes alive and loves to rev. Something that lacks in the automatics. As she is a 4 speed, she can easily keep up with traffic and is very enjoyable drive. She also has disc brakes on all four wheels and power steering. This very original Pagoda runs and drives great and is ready for many more fun miles. Besides being matching, and coming with loads of history, all of the panels are original with the original letters stamped on them. So what are you waiting for?
