Vehicle history:
This Mercedes-Benz 300 SL Roadster was completed on May 19, 1959, as a special edition for the U.S. and was delivered to the Rockefeller Center in New York. A copy of the delivery receipt is available. In 1999, Jürgen Klockermann of San Jose, California, offered this SL for sale following an extensive and elaborate restoration. In 2010, the car was acquired by a collector in Germany. Here, approximately 45,000 euros were invested in a major inspection and the conversion to EU specifications.
This beautiful SL was factory-finished in white with black leather. As part of a complete restoration, the roadster was repainted. Over time, the engine was replaced with a very late-model engine from 1962. Eleven years ago, the current owner purchased this gem from Esdar Klassik in Bielefeld and now wishes to pass the vehicle on to a new, caring owner. The original steering wheel is included with the vehicle.
