This car was gifted to me in October of 2023 and was shipped to me in North Carolina from Oregon. It had one owner and was stored in a garage for 40+ years. There is no sun damage and no rust or salt damage. I was able to drive the car right off of the truck, but it wasn't long before I discovered the car was overheating. I had the entire cooling system replaced with all brand new fans, belts and radiator. While in the shop, I had the breaks completely redone (not just the pads), steering column serviced (it shook) and had all systems drained and flushed. (I have the mechanics documentation for all work completed to date). The car seemed to be fine until the car's engine just shut down. As a result, I changed the starter and alternator in December of 2024 only to discover the issue was much bigger and the engine seized up and needed to be replaced which I did. An engine from the same make and model of Mercedes with 110,000 less miles on it was completely refurbished with all new everything (water pump, spark plugs and wires, filters, etc) which took the span of a year and was finally completed in March of 2025. I had since moved to New York , so I went back to NC to drive it the 700 miles home. The engine is flawless. What remains is the car's exhaust system needs updating, a new wiper moter needs installation (I have the sourced replacement), and the gas gauge is not working as is the passanger power window. I may do some or all of this myself (will update this post if and when). There was an aftermarket radio installed in the 2000's and I removed it and installed a modern touchscreen navigation/entertainment unit but the touchscreen failed. I removed it and will reinstall the aftermarket unit int came with. The interior is otherwise all original in good condition. I have invested, including the price of the car at auction, about 22K into the car which I am not expecting back. My pricing is fair considering the extensive work I put into it, all of which puts a new lease on the car's next 40 years!
