Description

motodrome are pleased to offer this superbly-provenanced, and with a very indicated mileage, 1967 MG B roadster.

Chassis no G HN 3100784

An original UK RHD example, this one was first registered 11/01/1967 and sold to a Mr Robert Fisher of Bradford.

Mr Fisher appears to have used the MG sparingly over the years, covering just 7000 miles, until, by 1984 when it was discovered by the last owner in the garage of a property he’d acquired for development.

It was believed at the time that the car had been standing in the garage for some years, and hence, although a low mileage original example, it needed both full recommissioning and a proper body restoration. We have some original pictures of the car stripped and undergoing substantial restoration work sometime between 1984 and 1992, when it returned to the road.

Subsequently it was cared for, garaged when not in use, and used sparingly by the 2nd owner until it came to us, and the odometer reading is now just 14000 miles.

It’s fitted with the period correct 18GB prefix 5-bearing engine, which is most likely the original one.

We have a sheaf of old paper-style MOT certificates from 1992, showing a small but consistent increase in mileage every year.

We’re told the 1980’s restoration was looking a bit tired cosmetically by 2015, hence it underwent a bare-metal repaint.

Apart from general servicing and maintenance bills, highlights from the last 41 year ownership include

Seats retrimmed 2004
Head rebuild (with unleaded conversion) 2006 at 10014m
Brake rebuild 2006
Further brake rebuild, dynamo rebuild, and new regulator 2017 at 11364m
New fuel pump and starter motor 2023

So to sum up, it’s a 2-owner car, with the last owner having had it since 1984, with an odometer reading of just 14000 miles. You won’t find many with that sort of provenance.

Spec wise it seems to be pretty standard, with replacement chrome wires, an aftermarket steering wheel, wooden dash insert, and conversion to 12v battery the only deviations we’re aware of.

looking really smart, it will come with our usual 6 month warranty on sale.
