Description

Exterior: This little MGB GT 1968 is still partly in its first paint. There has been some touch up here and there and it is certainly not perfect. But perhaps that is the charm with this car. Since it is a very well kept original car. Rolling on a set of Michelin tyres and still the original wire wheels. The MGB is in perfect level front and rear. I love the colour green and a British racing green MG. Feels as natural as a red Ferrari to me. Looking at this car you can really tell that it must have lived a sheltered life. All original bumpers in super nice condition and all chrome parts are exceptional. Have recently been fitted with nice clear headlights up front. The MGB GT is a beautiful and practical little coupe that is easy to live with.
Interior: Perhaps the best thing with this MGB GT is the truly amazing original interior. The original leather is still in great condition. The carpets are nice and clean. The dashboard and the all working instruments are just beautiful. There is even a working time period correct radio. If you should ever get tired of the wonderful raspy exhaust note. This was during the time period when it became law having a steering lock in Sweden. So this MGB GT just like all others sold in Sweden has the ignition down on the steering column.

Engine: The engine bay is nice and clean. And it has that same genuine original feeling as the rest of the car. Engine starts directly and has that familiar happy sound to it. Like a puppy that just wants to get out there and go still. Shifting is always very distinct on a MG and this one is no exception. 1968 was the first year the first gear was synchronized on MGB GT. When you come out on the highway you pop in that overdrive, and the Tesla people give you that long face look. Wondering how that old relic can go so fast.
History: This charming MGB GT was sold new BMC Sweden AB on August 29th 1968 to Saxon & Lindströms Förlag AB in Stockholm. The publishing company kept the car until 1977 when Karin Johansson bought it for 10.500 SEK. She kept the car until 2016 and after that it had two owners more until today. All documented just like the km reading that is today 140.000km. And the GT has not been standing still for many years. It just been used only for special occasions. It has a very nice documentation and all original equipment is present.

Such as original handbook, jack, spare etc. This is a car for you that appreciates originality over a gleaming paintwork. It is hard to describe in words, but a few kilometres of driving this MG and you would be as sold as I am still today. It is the perfect choice for you that wants to have a cool classic Grand Touring car without spending to much money. And knowing that with regular maintenance on this car it will stay healthy and trouble free for many years to come.
