NOTE MG prepared 16 MIDGETs to race and win the "Brooklands Double Twelve Hours" hence the name that assumed the model in "Double Twelve", modifying the bodywork with more in-depth cuts on the doors, locking the driving one and working on cylinder heads , valves, camshafts, racing exhausts with duckbill output, horizontal instead of vertical carburetor, 4-speed gearbox instead of 3, racing mudguards, etc.
At the request of customers, following the overwhelming victory in the class up to 1000cc the factory produced a certain number of replicas for individuals.
They ran with or without a compressor.
This car is fitted with a correct compressor but as it does not work in a balanced way it has been disconnected and the car runs in aspirated mode.
This kind of cars are nowhere to be found and have nothing to do with production Midgets.
Imported from England in 1992, it has always belonged to the same owner.
It was approved by ASI in 1993 and about twenty years ago it underwent a conservative restoration.
The bodywork is of the Weymann type with a wooden structure covered in pegamoid.
In Italy he has participated in numerous events, "Coppa della Perugina", "Coppa d’oro delle Dolomiti", "Bologna-Raticosa", "Cup of the two seas", "Circuito di San Marino" and many others.
It is still registered with the original English number plates.
