Description

Well, what happened to the good old days when you just went to the dealer, indicated which chassis, which engine and transmission you wanted and then had the package fitted with a beautiful body, all according to customer wishes, of course? This example was owned for a very long time by the previous owner who had the car restored to a very high standard. The Packard looks like it should. The Pacakard is powered by an eight-cylinder inline engine, unthinkable today, producing 120 hp, the pinnacle of luxury at the time. The body was manufactured by coachbuilder Rollston. At the time, it was already a very elaborate process to design the body entirely to the wishes of the customer. This example is therefore equipped with a Towncar body chosen entirely by the customer. The car has already been fully restored to a high standard with a great sense of originality. It is fantastic to see that this type of car ’s are preserved for future generations, isn't it? The bodywork therefore looks stunning and features fine sheet metal. The roof is covered with vinyl that has been applied correctly and fits nicely everywhere. The bumpers were re-chromed during the restoration and also look very nice. The car is on steel wheels that have the original hubcaps and white wall tires in the correct sizes. The driver can sit in the open but it is also possible to cover the driver's area with a roof. The roof is also in very good condition and fits well everywhere.

The interior has already been reupholstered once and looks good. The most notable are the front seats which are upholstered in blue and light brown leather. The light brown leather in the middle of the seats is also very nicely reflected in the leather used to cover the steering wheel. Another striking detail is that the doors hinge backwards as was customary in the past with écht luxury cars’s. The dashboard is equipped with beautiful and original instruments. The dashboard is equipped with beautiful wood inlays. The car is also equipped with blue carpets and rubber mats. However, what this specimen is all about is the space in the back. The car is an actual limousine. The passengers in the back will therefore want for nothing. The rear seat has already been reupholstered with beautiful grey leather and the rest of the passenger compartment is also in beautiful condition. The blue carpets have been fitted very correctly and fit nicely everywhere. The seats sit regally and a fold-out makeup mirror is also present in the car. Passengers can even fold out a footstool for just that little extra comfort. Naturally, a partition window is also present to ensure that the driver cannot understand what the passengers are talking about. The technology has been overhauled once already and is still in very good condition. The eight-in-line engine is mated to a three-speed manual transmission and produces 120 horsepower. The engine moves the big limousine effortlessly and allows the car to keep up with modern traffic even today. The brakes and chassis are also in very good condition and can be operated correctly. The driving experience of the Packard can only be described as very comfortable. The Packard One-Twenty in all its appearances is an incredibly rare car. The Rollston Town Car shown here is quite possibly the last example in the world. In short, a beautiful Packard One Twenty with a stunning body.
