Description

This 356 T6 sunroof coupé has been fully restored with an open cheque book by a leading Porsche restoration shop in California. Mechanically it has been tuned into one of the fastest 356 cars on the planet: a wolf in a sheepskin.

The 1600 cc standard engine has been enlarged to 1925 cc capacity and is fed by 44 Weber carburettors. Twin plug inition with dual coils, a magneto instead of a dynamo provide and help to produce the 150 HP on the dyno and as tested on the roll test bank. The engine is connected to a sport exhaust, ans is coupled to the classic 4 speed transmission with the 4 th gear being an overdrive, the gear changing has a short shifting system. It gives the car a tremendous acceleration power and a top speed of 214 km/h (also tested on the rolls). The engine has an oil coler system similar to the Carrera models

The stopping power is assured by 4 wheel disc brakes and a dual b rake system for security and safety. Road holding and cornering is spectacular thanks to the adjustable Koni shock absorbers and the car sits a litlle lower than the standard set-up. It runs on Avon sports tyres that are on 5.5 inch chrome wheels. The car is equipped with a large capacity GT tank which allows a longer range autonomy.

For better driving comfort, the interior is equipped with adjustable and reclining sport seats and roll-up security belts are installed. The original black leather seats with head rests do come with the car as well. The impressive black dash board is equipped with Carrera VDO instruments and a 250 km/h speedometer, oil pressure gauge, oil temperature, tank gauge and a 7.000 rpm tacho. A radio and a trip master for rallying is fitted. A nice wooden sports steering wheel is the finishing touch for the driver. The interior compartment can be heated with a more modern Webasto heater installed in the trunk area.

The sunroof coupe has of course an electrically operated sunroof, and underwent a 12 Volt conversion. European style headlamps are fitted with halogene lamps for easier driving at night. Yellow Hella fog lamps are part of the light system.

This 356 has been restored with the highest care for detail and mechanical exception. It is absolutely fantastic to drive with a performance capacity that makes 911 drivers feel ashamed. It is faster from 0 - 100 mph than a 911 S 2.0, also thanks to its lighter weight.

The driving pleasure this car offers is almost unbeatable in it's "genre"

With its impressive capabilities on the road, it's no wonder I have owned it for almost 20 years. From its sleek design to its smooth handling, this car has been my go-to for meetings and events. However, as much as I love it, the lack of space has become a hindrance for me, and it's time for someone else to enjoy its awesomeness. And speaking of maintenance, this car has been very reliable and has required minimal upkeep throughout the years. If you're looking for a car that will elevate your driving experience, this is the one for you. Don't miss out on the opportunity to own this exceptional vehicle.
