Description

The Porsche 911, who do we need to explain what kind of car that is? World famous, and has been for many decades. Since the 911 appeared in 1964, it has been impossible to imagine automotive history without it and in poster form it adorns many a boy's room, it is a dream for many to own a 911 one day. The 911 you see here is a 2.4 E from 1972 that is in splendid and spotless condition. Connoisseurs already feel it coming: this is the so-called ölklappe, the variant with the external oil filler valve behind the passenger door. This flap disappeared as suddenly as it came, as it was often confused with the fuel filler flap. Thus, the ölklappe was only produced in 1972.Under the hood lies a magnificent 2.4-liter air-cooled "flat six. In this case, the six cylinders are fed by two triple Weber carburetors, which, with a beautiful calyx with grilles, are not only pleasing to the eye but also provide a wonderful intake sound. Originally the 'E', as successor to the 'L' was powered by mechanical fuel injection but no classic car enthusiast will find this (rebuildable) modification annoying. The matching numbers powerplant has already been completely overhauled once, not forgetting the five-speed transmission. This 911 is finished in the beloved and not common color Aubergine. The ölklappe was already given a new paint job once and that purple paint job still looks very fresh. 'Like new' we think is just a bridge too far, with a minimal trace of use here or there, but it comes close. The Porsche makes a very pleasant impression, no matter from which angle you look at the car. What also immediately stands out are the perfect-looking 14” Fuchs wheels with a very fresh set of Cooper Cobra Radial G/T tires and the factory Touring headlights.

The interior of the E is largely original. The front seats were once reupholstered with the original material but the rest is still how it left the factory in 1972. It creates a beautiful and atmospheric ambiance. Original headliner, original carpets, the whole car looks exceptionally "real. From the factory, this 911 was delivered with air conditioning, hence the air vents placed on the underside of the dashboard. The air conditioning has been removed at some point but the ventilation system is still there. The leather steering wheel, which is standard equipment on an E, is in very good condition, as are the S-type dials, the retractable rear side windows and the lockable glove box. The car comes with the dealer stamped service booklet, warranty booklet, key card and instruction booklet. These are accompanied by several maintenance bills. The original spare tire, jack and tool roll are also present. There may be more elaborately restored 911s for sale, or more original ones. However, we dare say that this 2.4 E is one of the purest 911s, with lots of original elements and atmosphere. However, the technical restoration and work on the exterior make the car ready for decades of enjoyment. A 911 that presumably strikes the right chord with every Porsche enthusiast.
