Porsche 911 3.2 Carrera Lightweight – 1984
For sale is a 1984 Porsche 911 3.2 Carrera Coupé, completely rebuilt as a lightweight version. The car was stripped down to the bare body and rebuilt with a focus on weight reduction, body rigidity, and driving dynamics.
The base is an original 3.2 Carrera. During restoration, the body was stripped to bare metal and reinforced. To achieve the lowest possible weight, fiberglass doors, a carbon-fiber roof, a fiberglass engine cover, and various other lightweight body parts were installed. The side and rear windows are made of polycarbonate. The curb weight is less than 950 kg, significantly lighter than a standard 3.2 Carrera.
The air-cooled 3.2-liter six-cylinder boxer engine has been fully overhauled. The suspension has been modified with Bilstein Club Sport dampers and adjustable stabilizer bars at the front and rear. The car is equipped with an SSI exhaust system featuring dual tailpipes.
The interior is simple and lightweight, featuring bucket seats, an RS carpet set, and a roll cage. Non-essential parts have been removed to further reduce weight.
