Description

The Porsche 911 is one of the most legendary models in automotive history. Born as an update to the charming yet antiquated 356, the new model was originally named ‘901’ but had to change to ‘911’ due to protests by Renault, who had the rights to ‘middle zero’, three-digit nameplates. The 911 started off in 1964, and received numerous upgrades over the years, from impact bumpers (1974+) to turbocharging (1975+) on select models, as well as different iterations and packages, including the track-oriented Rennsport (RS) models from 1972 onwards. The many generations of the 911 came with revised gearboxes, interiors and engines, from the initial 2.0L to the 4.0L in the 997 GT3 RS 4.0 (2011), the biggest ever fit in a 911.

The 930 Turbo is the result of multiple experiments with turbocharging dating as back as the 1960’s, later seeking homologation status with turbocharged models in the early 1970’s, and culminating in turbocharged road car production from 1975 onwards. Inspired by Porsche’s 935 racecar and pushed by Saudi-Syrian entrepreneur Mansour Ojjeh, CEO of TAG Heuer, the Slantnose or ‘Flachbau’ 930 featured a punchy 300hp engine and the 935’s distinct front end, with additional performance options able to reach the 330hp mark.

This particular 930 Slantnose was sold new at the Bozzani Motor Company of West Covina, California, on August 31st 1988. After a nearly 20-year stay in Southern California, it was purchased by a new owner in Arizona in 2007. The car was bought again in 2009 in Florida after a thorough recommissioning, and later (2013) marketed and resold multiple times (2015, 2016, 2017) through Marshall Goldman Motor Sales in Ohio. Following this, this Slantnose was then exported to Kuwait and, at the turn of the 2020’s, imported to Dubai by our client, who minutely maintained throughout his ownership with many rubber and plastic components being renewed with genuine Porsche parts. Thus, the car remains mechanically sound, cosmetically fresh, and still wearing all of its original paint. With just over 27,000 original miles on the odometer, this Guards Red 930 Slantnose is no short of a dream car to add to any respectable Porsche stable.
