Description

The Porsche 911 was one of the first series production cars equipped with a Turbo that was also really commercially successful. Porsche was the first to be able to properly cultivate the application of a Turbo and make it function in a stable and usable manner. Porsche had previously used turbos in racing and to get them homologated for this purpose, a series of 400 lightweight 911s with Turbo were planned for production. Initially, this was of course to be a lightweight racing car until the FIA decided to change the rules for admission. The car would not be allowed as such with Turbo and the design was ripe for the trash. It was thought that it might be interesting for Porsche and its customers to market the 911 in this way as an exclusive supercar with top performance. The 911 Turbo was born. Initially with a 3 liter engine and from 1978 with a 3.3 liter engine and intercooler. This last version was in production for a long time, from 1978 to 1989. In 1987 this copy was sold new in the USA. The car was reintroduced to that market that year after an absence of six years. Due to stricter emission requirements, the Turbo remained absent there all these years. After only two years of use in the USA by an Air Force pilot, he took the car to Europe. Technically and optically it is a European version. Here the car was only used as a hobby in good weather and was perfectly maintained by a dealer, later by a well-known Dutch Porsche specialist who was allowed to do his thing without reservation by the owner. Recent invoices indicate that the technology is in top condition. Above all, the car has a very original appearance. Mostly first paint and absolutely damage-free. It will not be easy to find a real copy, the technical condition of this Turbo is also convincing here.

EQUIPMENT
Nice complete car with air conditioning, electric sliding roof, fully electric seat adjustment, third windshield wiper, etc.

EXTERIOR
Body in dark navy blue metallic. Completely original, sleek and damage-free. Mostly first paint. There are no significant signs of use. Everything fits nicely, stickers in the right place and the paint is fully shiny. The color scheme makes this Turbo stylishly classic rather than modernly aggressive.
